Micro review: 'A Minute to Midnight'

'A Minute to Midnight' is the second part of the well received Atlee Pine series. We follow our new favourite agent as she tries to get closer to understanding what truly happened to her twin sister.

Atlee Pine is an FBI special agent whose twin sister was abducted at the age of 5. She decides to try and confront her past and the book starts with her going to a high-security prison to interview a serial killer she thinks might be the one who abducted her sister. She eventually finds her way back to her hometown where the abduction took place and soon into her investigation there is a murder and then another and soon it seems the threat is looming as the murders seem to be that of a serial killer.

The book is suspenseful and riveting, with a twisted plot and a lot of character revelations. Those who enjoyed the first book of the series will be glad to have a chance to learn about Atlee Pine's life. Her character is likable and fascinating and this book explores how little she knew about the truth of the past that shaped her. It's a great addition to the series and an enjoyable read for all thriller fans.
